Process Engineer – Thin Film Deposition

This position is in the Imaging Technologies and Applications Group at RMD.
Advanced Thin Film Technologies (ATFT) Group is seeking a Process Engineer familiar with the thin film deposition (Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD, Preferred), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Sputtering, E-beam, and Thermal Evaporation) and characterization.

If you are interested in working on the cutting edge of thin film development for applied research, this job is for you. The job requires you to develop substrate cleaning processes; operate atomic layer deposition (ALD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) systems; characterize thin films with scanning electron microscopy, four-point probe technique, absorption, and reflection measurements. Data analysis and report writing using Microsoft tools are highly desirable. You will also communicate with external vendors for other characterization measurements, supplies, and parts. You will be working with other scientists, technicians and process engineers in a research and development work environment.
The position requires the ability to work on multiple programs in parallel and to work with other members. The candidate will have a traveling responsibility of up to 10%.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors or higher degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of professional or academic research experience
- Experience in thin film processes by ALD (preferred), CVD, Sputtering, E-beam
- Experience in thin film characterization
- Experience in vacuum science and vacuum hardware design
- Good communication, written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a diverse team
- Must be US Resident or Permanent Resident
